Training the Cross Country Horse, by Andrew Nicholson with Kate Green
New Zealand's talented eventer starts with a new direction: large-scale photos of event horses with arrows pointing out good and bad conformation features for event horses, as he describes "what I look for in a horse." These horses then appear in the rest of the book, often as 4-5 sequential shots, as he discusses schooling and handling various types of cross-country obstacles. Many of the fences encountered are also diagramed with comments. Brief chapters on what to do at the event and horse management are placed at the end.
