Hounds and Hunting through the Ages, by Joseph B. Thomas
Thomas, a Master for the Piedmont Fox Hounds in Middleburg, Virginia, in 1928 wrote perhaps the best book yet on the topic of foxhunting. B&w photos and a few line drawings illustrate points, including a comparison of footprints of foxes, hounds, wolves and coyotes. A series of horn calls is also diagrammed. The first few chapters deal with hunting history, but most of the book is devoted to current practices.
