The Hunt Ball, by Rita Mae Brown
This time the action centers around Custis Hall, a girls’ school, and several of the young ladies attending it who enjoy foxhunting with Sister. Their Halloween party is rudely interrupted when one of the participants is found hanged from a tree on Hangman’s Ridge. Long-standing difficulties with Crawford come to a head at the hunt ball.
